Lobbying

  • The White House has proposed 2% raise for federal and D.C. government employees next year.

  • Currently lobbying Congress & the White House to give federal and D.C. government employees a 7.4% pay increase in 2025. I will never give up the fight.

  • Civilian federal and D.C. government employees right now are working for 27.5% less than their private-sector counterparts. We must close this gap.

Organizing

  • Created a new organizing plan using our most valuable asset-our members.

  • As a result, we are back to 300,000 dues-paying members with a goal to reach our highest membership growth yet of 325,000 by the end of 2025. This is called our drive to 325,000. We set this goal of 300,000 to be achieved by August of 2024 and we achieved it five months early.

  • Virtual & in-person member-to-member conversations about the benefits of the union.

Legislative

  • Lobbied & advocated to give TSA workers Title 5 rights and a contract that gives them the ability to negotiate adverse actions.

  • Rescind the Schedule F executive orders that are union characterize as the most profound undermining of silver service in our lifetimes.

  • Rescinded the memorandum delegating, the Secretary of Defense the ability to deprive civilian employees of their collective bargaining rights described, in Chapter 71 Title 5.

Financial

  • President Trump's Executive Order 13836 diminished unions, losing 1,000 members/month.

  • Lobbying efforts caused President Biden to revoke the order.

  • Became easier to organize & bring in new members.

Membership

  • Grew membership in AFGE by 5% in 2023, securing the fastest rate of growth in over 13 years. The new revenue produces an opportunity for better finances.
